What to Expect

We recognize that visiting a new church can sometimes be overwhelming. No two churches are the same, so it helps to know what to expect before you arrive. We look forward to your visit and want you to feel welcome! Expect to be greeted as you enter the building by a member of our welcome team. They will arrange for you to receive a visitor’s packet and will also help orient you to the building. They can direct you to childcare if needed, and also show you to where our services are held.

When are the services?

We meet for our Sunday School and Equip Classes at 9:15am and for gathered worship at 10:30am. We also have an evening service at 5pm on the first and third Sundays of the month.

What are Sunday School and Equip Classes like?

Our Sunday School program is designed for children and youth of all ages. Our children’s Sunday School is staffed by members of the church who are well-equipped in caring for children and are passionate about raising up the next generation in Christ. These classes focus on teaching children and youth the Bible and specifically seek to point kids to Jesus Christ as a Savior for sinners.

Our adult Equip Classes take up many different topics from basic theology, to church history, to various studies of books of the Bible. These classes provide great opportunities for growing deeper in the knowledge of God and His Word and usually allow for times of discussion.

What is the worship service like?

During our service we ordinarily sing several songs, offer prayers to God, recite a creed, partake of the Lord's Supper, and receive Scripture as it's read and preached. The preaching is expositional, meaning that it seeks to explain the main point of the biblical passage being considered. At the conclusion of the service, we normally sing a closing song and then a pastor gives a benediction. Following the service, people enjoy a time of informal fellowship and conversation with one another. This is a great opportunity to meet people and to get better acquainted with our church.

How should I dress?

Please dress comfortably. Our congregation is fairly diverse and many forms of dress are represented. We have some who come in jeans and others who wear a coat and tie. However you dress, you will surely not be alone!

What is the music like?

We sing a mixture of traditional hymns and newer worship songs. We seek to emphasize congregational singing and do our best to accommodate the voices of God’s people with our musical accompaniment. We hope you will be uplifted by the singing of our church and we encourage you to join with us in heartfelt worship to God.

When do the services normally end?

Our Sunday School and Equip Classes usually end at 10:10am which gives parents time to pick up their children from their respective classes and gather back for worship at 10:30am. Our morning worship service usually ends around noon.

What do people do after the service?

We encourage people to stay for a little while after the service and fellowship with one another. Some of the best church fellowship happens in these informal times of talking to one another. Very rarely are people in a hurry to leave. So feel free to linger afterwards so we can have the opportunity to meet and get to know you!
